Melody Ann.

To Love is to be Happy With.

Annie and myself in Cardiff Bay four weeks before the end
Annie and myself in Cardiff Bay four weeks before the end

A month before the end of an almost two year battle with lung cancer which had spread to her spine and then brain.

She was everything any man could ever ask for in a wife – loving, caring, honest, faithful, trusting, and full of life and fun.

It took her almost ten years to say yes to my proposals, although I asked her sometimes daily, sometimes weekly.  Every time she said no, I merely said “I will wait, you will eventually say yes.

We became great friends during that time, until one day she finally said “Do you still want to marry me?”.

Ten days later we were married.

Melody Ann 20 November 1958 to 4 September 2008

Twenty nine good years as friend and then wife.

She loved her golf.

She loved her friends.

She loved her family.

She loved life.

Physically gone, but still with me in spirit, and in my memories.

She had an inner beauty that few people have.

May she rest in peace.

And as we say in Jamaica,  “Give thanks”.

Chris Aguilar.

    Chris,
Thanks for forwarding the website - Good job! I enjoy the comments about Ann and wish we had gotten together before. From our last talk she sounded bright & full of energy. I'm sure she is in a good place now. God Bless, Pat (her cousin)

...Great... U left out one thing tho' ... How the name "Ziggy" came about..I'm sure it has nothing to do with the Marley offspring ... AND...Ann has (still) an amazing ability to BLAZE UP the Overproof,.. without external flame, that is!...(heh heh!)..We all Love her, and in a weird/ironic manner, (her own), the space she left is one that She'll Always fill ..... and the Goose is gettin Fat !!!!! goffe

One year ago today but I can still see her lovely smiling face, every time I put on my computer Chris. What a great honour it was for me to have known Melody, she was a lovely genuine person with great heart. I will never forget her. Every time I hear any Bob Marley song it brings a tear to my eyes as I remember dancing with her when we were away. She will always be in my heart with great fondness.
My thoughts have been with you all day Chris and Alex X
  • Hi Anita, Annie absolutely loved her job at Severn Bridge, because she made such good friends there - you being very special. Thanks for being her friend.

Hi. Chris I am a IT Dunce, I commend you for what you have done. I too miss Ann, even though I had not seen her for years, she visited Cayman once and I saw her in Jamaica I think it was in the 80's. When we hooked up again on the web it was like we had been together all the time. Now I feel the void she left........... She is still in our mind if not our universe! Love and Thanks. Gilly.
  • Hi Gilly,
Yes I remember her visit to Cayman and then you all seeing her again in Jamaica. No matter how long she hadn't seen her friends for it was like they had been together all the time. But then you were also her favourite cousin.
    Thanks,
    Chris.

My dear Chris.....time stands still for no one. One year and it seems like yesterday. How funny are we as humans who try to keep in touch and when we loose someone who we care for, only then do we pull out the photos and remember all the wonderful times we had, Annie is one who was never far from thought and it still saddens me that she is gone. May she rest in peace.

    Love Jeni
  • Thanks Jeni, she smiles at me every day from my computer screen.

Anne will definately be missed. I lost contact with Anne many, many years ago after being extremely close to her (not romantically). I often wondered where she landed up. I am so happy she found happiness with you. May she rest in peace...forever in my thoughts
  • Thanks Mark, she appreciated your friendship very much.
